Have you attended an APWA conference within the past 5 years?  No? Then information about the 1st-Timer Mentorship Program may be of interest to you!  American Public Works Association (APWA) Leadership & Management Committee is providing the means for members to become more involved in APWA and at the same time maximize membership benefits and opportunities. A 1st Timer Mentorship Program is being developed in conjunction with Oregon's semiannual APWA Conferences.

Who is a first-time attendee?

A 1st Timer attendee is someone who:

    • has never attended an Oregon APWA conference, or

    • has attended a conference as a guest speaker, but has not been an attendee, or

    • has not attended a conference during the past 5 years.

Who are the mentors? Mentors are chapter leaders and members who have attended Oregon APWA Conferences and feel comfortable showing a first-time attendee how to get the most out of the APWA Conference.

Why should you participate?

The Mentoring Program offers an excellent opportunity to form lasting ties with APWA colleagues. Through creating a partnership

with another experienced member, you can develop professional relationships and networking opportunities through activities designed to link you with other active members. Overall, the conferences provide a great learning and relationship-building environment.
